Hoskins Park Ministries

The men and staff at Hoskins Park invite you to celebrate Christ’s Birth with them again this year.

Winter Wonderland at Hoskins Park will include dinner and fellowship under a large tent located beach side at The Pond. Gifts for the men will be presented after dinner.

Please ask your entire Life Group to attend this celebration of one of our most Holy holidays.

This event will be held at The Pond on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 from 6PM to 9PM. Details are posted on the Servenet.

In preparation, and time is short, please contact Paige Vestal at 704-400-9755 to volunteer for the following much needed help:

Donation of 6 live trees to be decorated with donated clear lights and outdoor extension cords.

Donation of enough clear light strands to decorate the Gazebo, 6 trees and 2 bushes at The Pond.

Donation of desserts for after the dinner. Dinner will be provided.

Donation of $100 gift cards for each of the 35 men current living on campus.

There will also be volunteer opportunities to help decorate the outside of each house and the inside of the office.

If you recall last year’s powerful celebration of over 200 people, 2008 promises to be even better.
 
But, we need to plan to make sure this happens.
 
Paige and Tom will host a Planning Meeting at Hoskins Park on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 6:15 to 7:30.

Hi everyone!

I am sure most of you have heard the news but Blessings In the Storm is officially on their own again as a stand alone non-profit!

We are thankful that we could work together for the time we did (a true blessing from the Lord to be able to support Loretta and Blessings), but it seems better for Blessings to be on their own now, rather than remain under the umbrella of Hoskins Park.  Loretta has always been its visionary and will continue to prosper the vision God has given her for woman and children in need.  Oh, and by the way, this unofficially happened a couple months ago but we have been working together to coordinate the changes ever since in order see what God was doing - we believe He is the one who is setting our course(s) and therefore it is now official!  In that regard it is all good and we are all supportive of this transition!

Furthermore, anyone who wishes to support Blessings can do so by contacting Loretta Caldwell.  All checks should be made directly to Blessings In the Storm.

I will let her respond to you as to how she might want you to donate, or support her.  So go ahead and email her with your questions!

Finally, thank you, everyone, for all you do for God’s work here at Hoskins Park and with Blessings in the Storm.  We all (our staff) realize this is His work and therefore trust Him to grant us what we need, when we need it.  And you are a big part of our ability to do what we do.  So thanks!  Especially as it gets colder - the men, woman, and children of the Charlotte area need us!  And they need you as much as they need God’s ministries that care for them!  So please remember how much God has done for you (us) and continue to give, to Blessings In the Storm, and to Hoskins Park Ministries …. trusting for God to provide for all of your needs, as He uses you to provide for the needs of His poor.  So thanks in advance for your continued support!

To all of you that participated in the yard sale, either by volunterring or donations given, a hearty Thank and God Bless You.  You are true servants of the Lord.

The ministry was able to raise a grand total of $1000.00.  God is so good.

All the proceeds will go to support the men of Hoskins Park.

Also, a reminder that the Christmas party is scheduled for Tuesday December 9, 2008 at 6 pm, so save the date.

We will be sending out more information when plans have been confirmed.

Don’t forget the pantry as it is alwasy in need of re-stocking.
