Thank You For Attending the Impact Champions Dinner |

We would like to thank all those Life Group Leaders and Impact Champions that attended the Hoskins Park Ministries Dinner on June 27. Johnny Allen, Tom Wheeler, Paige Vestal and daughter and Rick Schmitt and family represented the staff of HPM. Gabe Smith and Frank Brammer were present from Forest Hill. Approximately 17 Life Groups from Forest Hill were represented. Most of these 17 Life Groups are also the groups that continue to support Hoskins Park on a monthly basis, some even twice a month. These groups provide every other Saturday labor work, provide meals for the men and offer financial support. Their commitment is overwhelming and very much appreciated by the staff and men of HPM. Clint Propst gave an inspired testimony about his group’s effort at HPM. Tom Wheeler stirred our souls with a mini sermon on the love of God. Johnny Allen closed with a personal testimony and with a moving prayer. Although the main reason for the dinner was to thank all those groups that support HPM, we used the event to update everyone on the status of Hoskins Park. The success of any homeless ministry is measured by the success of the men that are helped. HPM has helped over 400 men transfer to a better life since the ministry was established. HPM just closed on three additional houses that bring the total number of houses to 12. Currently 32 men are served and once the additional 3 houses are furnished, the total capacity will be more than 40 men. Less than 8 months ago just 16 men were served! With this growth has come more need and also more service opportunities. HPM has a web site, hoskinspark.org that provides information on HPM, details service needs and provides an easy way to volunteer your group to participate. Under ‘Forms’ on the lower right side of the main page are volunteer forms that provide details and information on how to provide service. Life Groups can split their support among their members, part of the group can paint on Saturday and the other part can re-stock the Food Pantry at a different time. We are trying to make the service opportunity as versatile as the HPM need. The most critical need this summer is for Life Groups to help re-stock a Food Pantry with much needed supplies. The supply list is on the ‘Pantry Re-Stock’ Form on the web site. Also is the need for every other Saturday Work and Meals to be delivered and served to the men. Other volunteer opportunities are Fund Raising, Mentors, Volunteer Drivers and Cheer Leaders. The web site also provides an easy way to give financial support by clicking the ‘Make Donation’ button at the upper right side of the main page. Even a small monetary donation made on a regular basis would be a blessing. The most important thing that everyone can do is to pray for these men. Pray for the staff and pray thanking God for everyone’s continued support in making a difference in the lives of these men, our neighbors. If you would like to volunteer for a service opportunity at Hoskins Park, please email Paige Vestal or call her at704-400-9755. Paige is the main contact for Life Groups to volunteer at HPM. She can help schedule any support and/or event in which you would like to participate. If you have not served at Hoskins Park before, please email Bill Dinkel or call him at 704-488-2488 and we will answer any questions that you may have and set up a personal visit to your Life Group with Tom Wheeler. God Bless. Bill Dinkel |
