We need some help with an immediate situation. Would you consider supporting our disabled participants at Hoskins Park? We have three (out of 25 residents that live on our campus). We are looking to raise $1200 per month starting this month (January). Any contribution will help. These men cannot work and are homeless without us, as is the case with the majority of our residents.

Background: Typically residents pay us $400 per month for rent (because we require all residents to work). These three disabled men cannot work because of medical issues. That is a loss of $1200 per month to the ministry. All have fairly major heart issues (two have had several heart attacks each in the past couple years, one recently had a stroke, another had a gal bladder attack while at the ministry). Forest Hill Church is supporting one of them for the next 3 months (and has for the 3 previous months), the other two we have been supporting ourselves at Hoskins Park Ministries (these two have been here for over 12 months). You should also know that we (HPM) have all of them working with us in jobs that they can successfully accomplish, but without any strenuous activity. In fact, we end up paying them to live here because we put them to work! Unfortunately we are growing and our overhead is going up fairly steadily. Bottom line, we need assistance in order to maintain our own bottom line since rent is a large portion of our revenue. But we think this is the right thing to do.

Would you prayerfully consider supporting this effort now? If so, please send any contribution to:

Hoskins Park Ministries
109 S. Crigler Street
Charlote, NC 28208

and include a note on the check that says, Disabled Support/As needed. Hoskins Park is a non-profit organization and all of your contributions are tax deductible.

Sorry for the informal approach to this request but I trust God will use it as He sees fit. We just want to help the least of His people and we believe that is what we are doing. Most of these men would be on the street if we just let them go. Can you imagine being disabled and living on the street? We cannot imagine that and won’t allow it as servants of Jesus Christ.

Thanks for your consideration. And if you have no ability to help us financially at this time, or if you already have helped us and feel that your previous contribution was all you could do, perhaps you could just say a prayer for us and pass this on to someone you know who might want to help. Believe me, we appreciate all of you more than you know.

May God continue to bless you …. to be a blessing to others.
